Get StartedHow to Create Your Own Yard Sign
Step 1: Gather Supplies
Gather the necessary supplies to make your sign visible and eye-catching. We suggest the following items:
- Blank Yard Signs and Markers
- Extra-wide Tape if you want to add pictures or printed messages
* Note: If you have a picture or message to add, consider using extra-wide tape to protect it from the weather.
Step 2: Create Your Sign
Come up with a message (no more than 8-10 words) and handwrite it in large letters on both sides of the sign. This adds a personal touch and shows your passion for the cause.
If you're adding a picture or printed message, make sure to cover it fully with tape to protect it from the weather.
Step 3: Place and Protect Your Sign
Add flair to your sign with decorative elements like skewers poked into the top holes. Place your sign near the street, angled towards oncoming traffic. Remember to follow local rules about sign placement.
* Note: In North Carolina, signs cannot be placed closer than 3 feet to the edge of the pavement.
